switch bulbs

hi everyone ,some of the switches on my gti cabby dont light up so im assuming the bulbs have blown
1st question ….where are the bulbs ,got no holders behind switches .
2nd question….if the bulbs are in the switches how do you get the bulbs out as they look like sealed units
3rd question….if you can remove bulbs ,what type are they and where do you get them

thanks folks jay

Bulbs are in the switches, depending on the switch (some have both internal and external bulbs) and some I think have 2 bulbs. I recently replace all mine with blue LEDs and its not too bad a job really, just a bit fiddly.

Best thing to use is a very flat wide object such as a flat bladed screwdriver, or a butter knife. They do pop up quite easily but be aware they have little tiny springs which sometimes fly off :)

You can get the bulbs from autobulbsdirect, 10 for about six quid as I recall.

right managed to open the switches ,two bulbs inside but there soldered to the contacts ,so i guess i will have to buy new switches cause i aint no good with a soldering iron and the bulbs are tiny.

If you break the wire close to the bulb you can actually get away with twisting the new wire to the wire already connected.

Its not a perfect solution but it'll save you a few quid, but if your not happy with that get a new switch.

If you can't get hold of the new switches, send them to me and I'll solder some new bulbs in f.o.c :) (depending on the price on new switches it may or may not be worth sending them otherwise)
