Stray wire pls help

Settling In
Hi all,
Ive been slowly sorting the messy electrics that the previous owner had left in the car.
However I came across a stray wire that isnt attached. I have traced it and it goes to the sensor on top of the oil filter housing which I guess is a temp sensor but I maybe wrong.
Hopefully you can see it in the picture and can shed some light on where it should go pls
