starter motor

hi, anyone know where i can get a brand new starter motor from?? i tried gsf but they dont do them anymore. i bought a "reconditioned" one off evilbay but im getting tired of smacking it with a hammer every so often..

I'd be suprised if you can't get one from VW.. might be a little more expensive but it'll be new!

If you can cope with the car being out of action for a little while, then any auto electrician should be able to recondition your existing starter motor. Last time I had one done, it was cost effective, definitely cheaper than a starter motor.
