sportline starting problem ?

hi ive  got a  bit of a problem with my car  you go to start it and its fine  then later and nothing on the key ignition lights are on though  then when i put jump leads on to the battery it fires up no problem . any ideas could it be the ignition switch  ? any help would be appreciated

What do you mean "put jump leads on the battery" - do you mean jump starting from another car?

ok sounds like a duff battery then. Do a voltage test on it while its trying to start the car. Should be around 8-9 volts across its terminals minimum.

Sounds like you need a battery or at least to test your charging circuit

ill try that then i  thought it might be a dodgy  battery cheers mate
