speedo

my speedo stopped working is there a connector behind the dash that might come off?
any sugestions thx swanz

The drive cable from the gearbox may have sheared due to wear and tear. Also the clamp on the rear of the speedo may have sprung out as many just have a small plastic hook to keep them in. Also , if you have had the panel out, you may have lost a small plasitc drive adaptor ( like half a matchstick) which is fitted in the end of the cable and mates with the speedo drive boss. J.

Where the speedo cable goes into the back of the speedo head it's a case of square peg in to square hole.
