Speedo seems to be fidgety and mileometer doesn't work

Find that the speedo needled is moving too much and doesn't stay at the corect speed will fluctuate and also the odemeter miles doesn't measure any miles is this the clock faulty or the speedo drive gear or cable?

Mine bobbles about a centimeter each way but settles when your at a constant speed.  If mines broken then that's another expense lol

its about a few centrimetres each side but my mileage counter doesn't work either so is this the speedo clock faulty or something else?

Not sure about the mileometer mate.  I'm pretty sure our speedo's are fine though… I don't mean the trunks by the way… any speedo trunk action is just wrong…. lol …. the needle bouncing slightly is on all the mk1's I test drove.  Unless they were all faulty.

Bobbling will be the kinks in the speedo cable catching and spinning at faster/slower rate than whats accurate, at a constant speed the speedo cable isnt subject to as much torque seeing as its not accelerating so shouldnt do it unless its really funky.

I had a thing where milage was working but speedo wasnt, was just that it wasnt pushed into the back hard enough. Might work?!
