SPEEDO PROBLEMS

Can someone please try and help me out, i have an E reg cabby and the speedo has stopped working.

A new cable was fitted when i bought the car 6 months ago unfortunately when i crashed it a week after buying it the speedo decided to stop working. Can somebody point me in the right direction i know i could just go to a garage but i would like to see if i can repair it myself first.

Also I was pointed to a website a while ago that had haynes info you could download but i've lost the website address, if someone could let me know i would be very greatfull.

Have you checked the obvious first… that the connection at the back of the speedo is attached, that the drive in the gear box is seated correctly and if all else fails you caan change the speedo head for a 'new' one.

I had to do mine the other month when the cable packed up. It began to make a clicking noise and the needle bounced about all over the place. The cause was a faulty cable. I replaced it and the fault continued. I replaced the speedo and it still continued. In the end it turned out to be a faulty first cable.

New items can be unusable.
