speaker crackle woes

Hello

I have fitted some sooper fly new speakers, 4x6 jbls in the front, and some 3 way fli jobbies in the rear, but since ive hooked them all up ive noticed a slight crackle, especially when i have the radio on and sometimes with cd's.

Any ideas what this could be?

 :dontknow:

I know it sounds silly but have you made sure that all the positives and negatives are the right way round and the front to back. Also make sure all your terminal connections are ok and not touching any where.

interference, make sure the cables are running NO WHERE near any power (live) cables as you will get interfernece of it, also u may wana try replaceing the ??supressor?? if a mk1 has it, the thing that stops interference of the engine

not actually sure about the positive to positive, just used the wires that were already there and assumed they were right…. is there an easier way of finding out which are positive and which are negative rather than chasing them back thru? apart from trial and error of course….

strange it only seems to happen on the radio!

Could it be that the crackle was always there but now you have new speakers it is showing due to the greater detail? Could be a loose connection or movement of connections at the back of the head unit? Just a thought!  :dontknow: Someone mentioned power cables! Normally the main power cable will run down one side of the car! If you are running amps or cd changers etc in the boot, then make sure all information wireing goes down the opposite side of the car to the main power loom to prevent pick up of interference! Personnally I would chech the head unit connections at the back! Best of luck!  :)
