some lights working, some arent

ive recently rebuilt my mk1 with a new wiring loom and engine (16v), hooked the battery up to see which lights i had working etc. i had about half of my lights, managed to sort a few that werent working but now im left with the following not working:

- passenger side main beam out
- passenger side rear light out
- passenger side indicator out
- no brake lights, there is a male 2 pin plug above my brake pedal, but there are no wires going to it, any info on what wires should go to it, i seem to remember 2 red wires going there from my old loom, but i have no spare wires from my fusebox or anything?

im thinking this may be why my passenger side headlight isnt working, theres a brown wire coming from the headlight then it just ends, i thought it may be for spotlights or something but unsure?

as for the rear, i thought it may be an earth so i checked the earthing points and replaced some wires, but still no luck, when i turn the indicator on for passenger side, i get a very faint light on my passenger side rear indicator and both passenger and drivers rear sidelights

any help with the above?

have you tried the earth's in the boot for lights. They will be on floor held in with a screw/bolt. I had one of 3 wires off and had pretty much the same prob. As for brake light switch I was told recently it's not behind the brake pedal it's on the master cylider.

brake light is controlled either by pressure switch in engine bay, or pedal switch on late cab/rocco. by the sounds of it you put earlier loom in later car! look at the fusebox plug c, there might be a 2 pin plug with red/black and red/yel, if so thats brake lights run loom from this to pedal switch

the brown wire on the headlight is the earth, so fix it!
