side light comes on with brake peadal!?!

I've got my ready for the summer if it comes.
Only to notice. The front left side light comes on when I press the brake pedal? I've had all sorts of electrical niggles but that's a new one.
Anyone heard of that?

yea sounds to me you have got bad earth connections

you will find most earth wires on a golf are brown in colour and connections will be mounted onto the body

I found a dodgy looking connections in back boot floor just behind passenger light cluster. It was damp and dirty so cleaned it out and hey presto we have brake lights.
I also solved knocking noise.
today has been a very good day
must buy looto ticket.
