Yep, just physically checked, the oil flashes as well as coolant. Apparently (not fully sure) you're supposed to wait until the coolant light has stopped flashing, before trying to start the car???  :dontknow: I've had one occasion where I didn't wait for this, and the coolant light never stopped flashing - until I'd turned the ignition off and then on again.

? you dont have to wait for the coolant light to go out before starting, its just the system checking itself, as soon as the ignition is operated or a few seconds after it should go out as should the oil light!! if it dont then theres a problem

great stuff cheers folks!

oh and one more thing when it was realy real cold like -4, my oil buzzer buzzed and light flashed but that was the only time that has ever happend!,
i tapped the dials and its stopped! do you think it was caused by the extreem cold or mabey a dodgy conection? was just a bit worried if it was a dodgy conection and i had no oil pressure, not had a problem since though????

good old mk1 electrics!
