Rev counter

My rev counter flicks over to the far side once the key hits the ignition and stays there. Anyone come accross this before? any help would be much appreciated. Its a MK1 cab.

If this is a recurring subject im sorry, had a quick look and couldnt find any existing posts.

Wiring incorrect in the engine bay ? From symptoms you are suppling 12volt direct to tacho not correct pulse .

Have a good look , have you changed any thing ?
