Rev counter - which wire to the Digifant coil?

Hi guys, I have put the g40 engine in my mk1 golf, it runs Digifant engine management and is running sweetly. The golf (1982 1.1) has a rev counter but I am not sure which wire it uses from the G40 engine. Even knowing the GOLF rev counter wire colour would be helpful, but if anyone could let me know how to wire this I would be grateful and buy them a pint.

cheers guys,

Wil.

Golf wire to the dash is red/black.  Don't know if its the same but wire from a mk3 ecu is green/blue.

Mr Purple, does this red/black terminate to the white multi block connector on the dash?

are you using the 3 pin type G40 coil? if so you need to get the rev counter signal from the ecu, its pin 24 on the ecu and according to mty diagrams its a red/black wire.

I have heard the ecu signal is compatible with the MK1/2 dash, so hopefully that will work. if not you can convert it to run a MK2 Coil + tci unit, then get the rev counter signal from the -ve side of the coil as per factory MK1/2

Pin 24 (green 0.5) changes to red/black and i'm not sure where it goes, but on the dash/clocks end it is pin 5 of the 14 terminal connector on the instrument panel. (red/black 0.5) which out of the fuse box. The problem is that I don't know where it comes into the fuse box. Our where to join the green (red/black) in the engine bay. Thanks for all the help.

i dont think it goes  to the fusebox on the polo, it doesnt really have one anyway like what you're used to on the mk1.

the pin on the mk1 fusebox depends which fusebox you have, early ceramic or late blade. but if you still have the old loom its where the red/black wire from the -ve side of the coil goes
