rev counter not working
Hi there everyone,
I really love this golf 1990 mk1. There are quite a few things wrong with it however. If you have read my previous posts you will see some of the other problems. It also has a broken rev counter. The needle does not move at all. How worried should I be about this and is it easy to fix?How much does it cost to fix?
Also on another note does anyone here live in Edinburgh? Feel like I could use some help!
Thanks

If it is just the rev counter and the fuel and coolant gauges work fine they are easy and cheap to replace. You could check you are getting a feed from ignition coil wire in case the wiring is the problem. If it is the rev counter I am sure crazyquiff on here would sell you one for around a tenner. Should take about an hour to replace it.

Hi dubboy,
I think the other gauges are a bit off too. The speedo doesnt seem quite right. Could this be a real electrics nightmare?
Thanks

What does this mean exactly, some accurate info would help all of us come to a conclusion for you.

Hi Tian,
so the rev counter stays at zero, the speedo is a little erratic, sometimes taking a while to go back to zero after I have stopped and I dont think it is giving me the right speed. Im not too sure about the fuel gauge yet.
Any help/advice would be much appreciated.
thanks
