ok on my 76 anyoen any ideas what the resitor is for by the coil seme sto goto the starter motor?

i am going to change my set up to later style dizzy a tci controled one from a 8v cabby so does that mena i can get rid of the coil and lead to starter motor then?

Don't throw that coil out yet! still need one of those.
You need the dizzy and the black bit with wires that sits up in the scuttle (the brain)
As the new dizzy spins it sends a signal to the brain via the hall sender which combines it with some other information, and then sends a signal to the coil etc.
Take lot's of photos of the original setup and compare the two to see exactly what wires you need.
Why do you want to do it anyway? I quite like points, all quaint and temperamental.

ive got a dizzy and a tci with loom from a later carbed cab so thinking of using this but was thinkign surely i dotn need to use the resistor too
also converting car to twin carbs and early dizzy has twin vacum take off i only need one
