Rear lights problem

hi guys having a bit of trouble with my left light on tyhe rear,
i have brake lights on both sides and sidelight on the drivers side only,
i have checked all fuses and that are ok, and ihave power there on the power probe, all be it very faint, i can get it to slightly light up the element on the light but nothing more than that, that made me think a bad earth, went to remove the earth straps for the lights on the floor and trhe bolt snapped clean off, so i have made a new earth on the rear quater for the min but its still exactly the same, then i noticed the right sidelight flickers when i move the wiring about so i have now removed all the outter casing to the wiring to find wet wires but no damage that i can see, has anyone had similar or have any ideas of where/what to do next? runiing low on ideas
cheers

Pins can bend in the light holder causing exactly your problem bend then back up , gently .
Poor quality stop tail bulbs can also affect , try swapping bulbs . Not be earth as you say all other lights on that cluster work .

yea thats what i thought might be a faulty board but borrowed another set and the same and had about 10 different bulbs in there now, is there only the one earth for the back lights?

Did you say you have checked for 12volts on the end of the side light wire ?
grey/black and grey/red wires [sidelights have separate wire for each side sharing a fuze with the corresponding front light ]

yea i have checked for power at the end of the wires and on the light board itself, im only checking with a test lamp and only shows up feint thats why i suspected a bad earth??
