Radiator Fan

Ive just been to GSF and Euro Car parts, they say that the fan that i have on my mk1 isnt in production anymore, my fan has 2 pins, but euro gave me a 3 pin, and gave me a kit so that my 2 wires can ben fitted onto the 3 pin fan. just need to know if this is correct, and if so, does anyone know how to do it.

I'm in similar situation in that I've got the 3 pin fan and I got a thinner 2 pin fan from the scrapyard to gain some space. I believe it's just a 2 speed fan, so you just want to run it at the fastest speed with your 2 wires.

yeah sorted it now, i have robbed the wiring loom from the mk2 gti im breaking, with the radiator switch aswell, it works fine now.
