Power for VDO Gauges

Hi

I have just installed the 3 VDO gauges (Oil Temp, Pressure and Volts)  in my 1989 Clipper Cabrio and have managed to get the senders installed and wires into the cabin, however, I am struggling to see where I can connect the wires for the ignition circuit and lighting circuit.

Not that keen to piggy back on the cigarette lighter as I am pretty sure that the fuse wont protect the wires. Does anyone know where I could piggy back off of? Access to the fuse box is tricky, so ideally I would like to install them off another circuit rather than right back to the fuse box.

look on the back of the fusebox, there are lots of spades. some of these are ignition live you'll probably have a spare grey/blue wire spade too, this is lighting circuit. or tap the lighting into the ciggy lighter grey/blue for the lighting. you dont want to tap into the ciggy lighter for power though, as its permanent live
