Original stereo.

Anyone know what the original stereo's in any of the mk1's were? also where to get one, im thinking german ebay's probably a good start, but i would prefer to get one from somewhere in the uk.

dealer option so you have a chance with any stereo from that era. have a look on flea bay. blupunkts are a good atart.

I agree, if it's an 80's mk1 for example, a Blaupunkt radio cassette was probably an option. There's a photo in Lennyhope's '82 Cabby post, sure he won't mind me using it as an example. I've got the same one in my '82, although I put it in recently as it had nothing for 25 years.   The Mk1 Golf Owners Club
If it's an older Mk1, then maybe just go for a similar radio but without the cassette player.

i had a sharp system in mine from new so although i suggest blaupunkt any stereo will do (except radiomobile)
