Varta and Deta are 99% white cased, but Varta do some light grey cases as well
I can get you most batterys,as its my game….
Dry charged or wet.

Oh it matters…………. :wink: Im looking to replicate the look of the original as closely as possible. If anybody has pictures of a period battery of whatever make, that would be great. Stickers etc will have been updated over time but i want a genuine 80's look.

Interesting. So can you get hold of some period photos or literature then? I would like to source a battery thats as close to original as possible and then change the stickers. Bosch would be my first choice, i must admit.

Ill do a bit or research and get back to you. I would like a BOSCH battery and i suspect that the original ones were all black but ill check first. Can you get an 'all black' BOSCH?

I would imagine with that very low spec batery it was for a 1.1 or 1.3 golf…….
36 amp hour
and 175 cold crank, cant see it being for a 1.8 gti matey

i didnt say thats its for a gti 'mate' im just showing what a 80's varta looked like as the the origional poster wanted a picture of one, if it was for a gti it would have been a 44ah battery,same looking and same size!

if you still insist on buying a bosch battery try your local 'ANDREW PAGES' depot, they are one of the the only uk official bosch agents.
