oil warning lights/buzzer

my golf was bought with a knackered engine and had died from oil pump failure but now fitted new 1.8 8v gti engine and oil warning light on dash clocks and buzzer is still going off constantly

any idea's guys as i am all new to the vw's as grew up on fords
