Oil Pressure Switch
My old (and still original) oil pressure switch decided to give up the ghost in my 1978 Golf L 1093cc and was leaking oil everywhere.
The garage have tried to fit 2 separate new switches but neither seem to work properly.
When the new switch is wired up, the oil light is permanently on along with the handbrake light! They tried putting the old switch back in and the handbrake and oil lights go out :dontknow:
The old switch has a code 732-021-919-081 (0,45 bar) on the bottom.
Does anyone know if there was anything peculiar with these early oil pressure switches and what part I should be going for based on the code above. All the pictures of new switches that I have seen have one exposed spade terminal whereas my original one has some cowling around the terminal…
Any help/guidance appreciated!
Cheers
