oil light

Finaly got my golf started today after starting the engine I found the oil light on the dash stayed on permanently but no buzzer sound. Could this be a electrical problem as I thought the oil light would flash if low oil pressure. Anyone had this problem befor.

yeah i have the same prob. i've had my 82 golf gl for a couple years and the mate i bought of told me that the oil warning light was permanatly flashing. he took it to the garage ant they chaged or tested just about everything they coudl find, (except changine the entire wiring for the oil temp sensors and all) but they couldnt get it to stop flashing.

they eventually said it was probly a fault in the wiring somewhere and to put it right would be so much hasle and cost it wasnt really worht it. as long as you keep the oil topped up it should be ok, or at least thats my exsperiance with it! lol

if anyone knows a solution to this which is cheap and easy would love to hear it! that light can get anyoing!
