Oil Light on Dash

Hi

I have a Mk1 Cabriolet GTi 1984. The oil warning light on the dash comes up with the pre ignition then goes off when the engine starts. The car runs fine. As soon as revs are taken above three thousand the oil light begins to flicker (the same as it does pre ignition). According to the gauges the oil pressure and temperature are normal and the car still runs fine.

Any ideas?

It could just simply be a faulty sender if the VDO gauges are saying everything is correct  :wink:

Thanks. The only prblem is I bought the sender on ebay from America and it wasn't cheap. Do you know anywhere I can get another sender from?

if the light flickers without the buzzer going off id say its a fault with the clocks
