Nuts to attach speakers! Where from?

I'm missing the little black nuts that screw onto the plastic studs that hold the speakers into the door pods and the rear shelf supports. Anyone got any idea where i can get some? need 16 of the little buggers

Maybe best too take one of the plastic studs down to your local diy shop or garage, they should be able to match up the thread with something?  :dontknow:

there is no thread as such, the nuts are a pressed metal fixing that screws on.

I couldn't get the VW bits to clip on to the posts for the rear speakers

In the end, I used M6 (I think?) nuts and if you screw them on they are just about tight enough to cut their thread on the plastic.

Well, they've not fallen off yet anyway!

Cheers

I'm pretty sure MK2's have the same fittings so check your local scrappy

VW do a large friction fit ring, used on the MK4 to hold some trim on. It's about the size of a 50p. It's circular and has teeth on the inside. It pushes down onto a plastic circular lug like you describe for the speakers. Would that be too big?

They're only about 20p each. I bought some for the intercooler pipe mounts on my MK4 turbo. I'll try and find the part number.

cheers guys, yeah mk2's do use the same thing so i'll see what i can find this weekend. Looks like the rears will have to have a rethink anyway as the plastic lugs are broken off

I'll also try some m6 nuts, if i can't find any at the scrappers.

Cheers for all the suggestions!

Thin, black cable (zip) ties through the speaker fixing holes and then through the speaker grill ??

Yep either that or drill some holes and use a black nut and bolt.
