No pressure from front screenwash

My mate came round tonight to get me to have a look at his Sportline Cabrio and I am completely confused.

From what I could gather, everything is fine and he is getting voltage to the wash pump but just not enough current to give it any power to push water up the tube. Even with no tube attached the pump hardly squirts water out.

Can anyone tell me if it is controlled via a relay or is there something else that may be limiting it's current??

Try connecting it direct to battery for a few seconds to test. If it doesn?t work then the pump itself is kerrrrnackered? If it works then there is probably some loose or corroded connection.

Try blowing back down the pipe to clear any crud that been sucked in
