no n/s indicators!

1986 mk1 cabbie….

Drivers side front, rear, and side repeaters work as they should (flash and tell-tail lamp), on both the stalk and the hazard switch. No passenger side indicators though, on either the stalk (no tell-tail) or hazard switch. Been having a good look over for the past hour or so, wiring looks good, as does hazard switch, and fuses.

Initially thought may be the stalk at fault, but wouldn't the lamps flash on the hazard switch?

Very stuck! :banghead:

Cheers, Keith.

cool, thanks, i just couldn't figure out why the relay would only allow one side to work!

cheers, Keith.

Yeah I'd say it can't be the relay either, since it supplies the 'flash' irrespective of side of car. I'd go with faulty hazard switch, they're prone to it. You can disassemble and clean it up but its a bit fiddly.

no dice, tried a known working switch and relay, gotta be the stalk?

Probably worth getting a multimeter and looking at the circuit diagram, to diagnose the faulty component. Switch sounds likely but it might not be, or could be a poor connection or wire elsewhere.

aye, I think I've lulled my self into a false sense of security with the wires/loom, i should have gotten over my fear of electrics by now!

ok check the black/white wire from fusebo A/20 and follow it all the way back to where it ends up (see fusebox faq)

this wire runs from hazard switch and flasher switch, only thing i can think of that would kill both the hazard and indicator. if it was stalk hazards would still work see so im thinking its gotta be that wire

It had broken about 2 inches from where it leaves the fuse box connector. odd one though, the wires sleeve was still intact!?

thanks for the help people!

nice one :)

i had similar on an indicator loom, the copper had turned to powder for about 4 inches along the wire, but from the outside it looked spot on!
