No low beam, will not stay on high beam
Hi Folks,
I'm a bit stuck on electrics, hope someone can help. I have turned the lights on fully but only get my side lights on. Also, when I try to flick my high beams up they will not stay up- have just had a very scary ride home on the country roads trying to hold my flasher stalk back and drive, letting it go when other drivers approach and plunging myself into darkness.
Both bulbs appear fine. Low and high beam fuses for both sides seem fine.
Is it the stalks being dirty or is it the relays?
Got to get this sorted as I am marooned in the middle of nowhere ( in a house ) with no other car.
Mark.

Have you had the switch out yet to make sure all the wires are attached?

Ayup Dan,
to be honest mate, I lost my rag with it and got a mate to give me a lift back from the garage. I am completely useless with electrics, will keep you posted as it may help out anyone else in the future with a similar problem.
Hope it won't be long.

I had a problem with my dashboard lights a while back and basically the spade connector on the back of the switch had broken, easy fix fortunatly. Good luck and hopefully something simple.

sounds liek the wire from light switch to stalks is missing, or the light switch itself has gone.
the wire you are looking for is the white/black wire from light switch pin 56 to stalk pin 56

Hi All,
Thanks to you guys and your advice, you were dead on the money rubjonny as it was the light switch itself that has gone. I wish I had checked that, it's always the simplest things but just glad to be back on the road.
Thanks both and Merry Christmas / Happy New Year.
