no indicators

had a proplem on my 83 gti with my oil light buzzer,so i took the clocks out & found a loose connector sorted that out and put it back together but my indicator flasher bulb stayed on (although not very bright) so i checked my fuses one had blown so i changed that (it blew again) basically when i put the indicator on the bulb lights up bright but the lights outside dont,has my flasher relay gone ? please help thankyou.

sounds like a dodgy relay does the hazzard switch work?

does the hazzard swithc acctually flash with the ignition on? i had the same problem the other day and i think it wasone of the pins on the hazzard swithc had come loose. also earth the clocks to the bulkhead behind the dash, makes the world of difference!

my monies on a faulty flasher relay .

try adding an extra earth to the brown wire on the plug on the back of the clocks, works everytime!! its a bad earth on the clocks and it always earth's itself throught the indicator light if the original one is faulty.
