no battery or dash lights help!!!!!!!

ive bought a mk1 golf gti cabby on a c reg but there is no dash lights at all not even the little clock lights up but the car cranks over and the fuel pump kicks in just no lights and no spark can anyone help????????//

are all wire connected to the battery ?

to what i can make out yes but on the back of the fuse board there should be a thick grey and yellow wire but i cant find it??????????

all that and it was dodgy wiring to a relay
