need some advice

i dont know if anyone would know this but does anyone have a clue on the best way to fit a oil temperature guage into a 1.3 carb mk1 golf please

mmm one way to do it is to buy an aftermarket VDO type gauge. 50-170C with the sender to suit.
 Then you can mount the sender from the top of your oil filter housing, or perhaps from the block somehere?  :dontknow:

 Run the wires through the bulkhead, and mount somewhere in the dash..

Stay out of the black…
 And into the red….
 You get nothing in this game for 2 in a bed!

The 1.1/1.3 doesn?t have an oil filter mounting with lots of holes to screw in senders for gauges. When I?ve added VDOs to these engines I?ve had to use a Y adaptor to split one of the outlets on head so that it can take both the original oil pressure switch and the new temp sender. If you add a oil pressure sender they usually have the pressure switch built in so you only need the one outlet.

Then as Bozlem says run the wire through bulkhead to gauge which can be housed in the centre console
