mk1 wiring loom

Hi,
I need to know what connectors match up to what on my S1 GTI with a 1.8 16v kr engine.
Please can someone help.
I need to know the colours for the wires and connectors for the following;
Throttle body.
Dizzy,
5th injector,
Fuel reg,
Idle valve.
Ive been given a load of spare looms (mk1's and mk2's 8+16v's )and im trying to find the correct ones for the job.
Hope some body can help!!
Pics would be good too!!!
Thanks
James

Re: mk1 wiring loom

Throttle body - unless you're using an ISV, it has no electrical connections
Dizzy - use the 16V loom with its hall sender connector, ECU and a wire to the temp gauge
5th injector - same as 1.6
Fuel reg - doesn't have an electrical connection
Idle valve - ISV? OR AAV?? You need to decide which idling system to use in the conversion, and wire appropriately

Thanks for the quick response, but i still cant get my head round it??
Im using the 16v loom for the dizzy, the original s1 loom for the front lights(is the rad fan in this loom?)is there a seperate loom for the 5th injector and fuel pressure reg?
Sorry to sound so thick!!

I can't remember if its separate or not, but there's 2 looms which go into the back of the fusebox, they're kinda joined in funny places and not entirely separate anyway…. Also with yours being a S1, its going to be different connectors at the back than later S2 models (which I have).

The rad fan is not really part of the 'loom' as such, its just a few wires between the battery, fan motor, and radiator switch. SO it should be possible to separate it from the rest. Later models (I think) had some kind of connection to-from the fusebox though.

Not from memory, no. Also it will be different for a S1 than a S2.

But it doesn't matter, you can reuse MOST of the original Mk1 loom, you shouldn't need to be unplugging at the back of the fusebox etc.

Thats the problem! Got the car with all the loom pulled out,and the boot full of looms to use for this car and for spares! Managed to find the original loom for the lights as it had overspray on it, and i maybe know which is the other loom. Ive found the kr loom for the ECU and TCI also. So now im trying to find out what connectors go to what.

Oh dear!!! If its any consolation, I think the main multiplugs will only plug into one socket on the fusebox. Is there anything in the FAQ, I think there was a rough guide with wot plugs where?
