MK1 golf gti converstion help (no spark)
both black wires are on the + and and the red and green are on the -
there seem to be no negative from the coil when using a power probe when the ignition is off
the TCI unit is earthed to the battery too
any ideas??
also if anyone has GTI wiring diagram on the net could i have them please

terminal 15 should see an ignition live
terminal 1 should have the green wire from the tci unit going to it, and the red and black wire on the original car loom going to it tofeed the rev counter and fuel pump
you say you have both black wires to the coil… you should have a black wire from the original loom which is a 12v supply going to it, and on top of that another black wire, and another black and white wire… the latter both feed the ecu and tci

its a gti 1.6 engine so there no ECU

either way principle is the same. 12v supply to terminal 15 on the coil, and trigger wire supplying an earth to the coil as the engine spins

You can test the hall sender, there's a little section for it in the haynes manual. Basically you're looking for a lowish voltage "pulse" in the middle terminal.

seen as my gti manuel got robbed by some cunt other week
with the plug out?
whats the voltage?
can you copy this out the manuel or something please mate?
