Mk 1 Cabrio Starter Motor

I have just spent 2 days laying underneath my car removing the starter motor !  Removing was a hassle but putting the repaired unit back looks to be a major problem  as I have no idea how to insert the bolt which is closest to the engine block.
I got it out by fishing around with a extended socket wrench, working absolutely blind, but dont know how I can fit this upper right bolt when refitting the starter……. Any ideas welcome.

BTW got a brand new solenoid ( which was the problem and had a dead earth ) for Malaysian Ringgit 105 ( about 30 quid) fitted. A Japanese equivalent to the original which works fine on the workshop floor……. Lets hope it works OK when I get this starter back in place !

One of the bolts is accesible through the engine bay, you will have to lean in and feel for the bolt.

Finally got the starter relocated by fitting studs to the auto-transmission bellhousing which allowed the starter to line up easier than trying to insert bolts while supporting the weight of the starter and lying under the engine…… Worked out OK.

Now another query….. I find that this car has a second solenoid upstream of the starter solenoid with this second relay fitted immediately behind the ignition coil in the wiper bay. Dont see the reason for this second solenoid as the solenoid operating current is quite low and cant find any reference to it in the manual.
Anybody seen this sort of mod before ??
