MFA Stopped Working

After my battery went flat, and I jump started the car, my MFA just stopped working.  Anyone got any ideas?

its the fuse that works the dash lights and electrics

no it isnt, its the fuse that does the dash clock. i.e, you want the digital clock on the dash to go off, so the dash resets itself. making the dash lights not work wont help in any way ;)

is this fuse in with all the other fuses? or behind the MFA?  got my dash in bits :-(

ahhh just found out its fuse 3.. didnt work for me

sounds liek you need a new dash then! if you wait a week or so i may have a late spec cab clockset up for grabs, only issue with it is the vac thingy is missing off the back for the mpg, but you can just fit the one of your old clocks if they're the same

would this be fuse no3? clocks? also should the rating be 10amps? or 15amps?

Hi Jon,

thanks for the prompt reply but initially i did this but got a bit confused, please see below:

3rd fuse states 15Amps:


The below shows 10Amp:


or am i barking up the wrong tree here?

help would be appreciated

mine was switch 3,  and was 15amps. in a 1991 GTI Rivage Cabriolet

seems discrepancy is between early and late, mk2 haynes and bentley both say 15a, mk1 seems to suggest 10a (if you look at piccy of fusebox near top that also has 10a)

might be down to central locking, mk1 never had it but mk2 does. 10a should be alright, if it blows, put a 15 in ;)
