MFA Stalk

Hi Guys,

Are all MFA stalks the same for the MK1 and MK2 golfs?, just wondering if my spare MK2 will fit onto my cabriolet?

yeah pretty much, however the one u need is from a jetta, as it or the cab have no rear washwipe.

What difference will it make, what will happen if i used a golf one? would it mess things up if i pulled the stalk back and there was no wiper to come on?  ops:

nothing will happen, will work fine just it has a picture of the rear wash wipe on and it moves back slightly when u push it, but it will work.

Just a thought…

My MFA has the reset button in the top right of the binnacle and a button on the end of the the stalk. Ohters I have seen, Mk2's included have a reset 'slider' on top of the stalk.

I suppose it depends on which stalk is yours and what year the car is.

The correct alternative for a cabby is actually the MFA stalk off an injection Scirocco (or another cabby), as they are straight not curved like the Mk2 Golf or Mk2 Jetta, but, if you get one from a Scirocco it will have the little removable clip missing from it that stops you from using the rear wash wipe.
I know this as I work for VW and have just had to replace my MFA stalk for my 88 Rocco.
I think they are reasonably priced from VW at around ?49 as you know you will be getting one that works properely (unlike most second hand ones) and you get a two year warranty.
