there is a small brown/white wire that should be connected to the rocker cover which earths the mfa, easy to knock off. Causes all sorts of problems with the dash. allot of water could also aggrevate a poor connection.

top right of rocker cover where the rocker cover earth strap to bulkhead is( hidden by the air tube to the inlet manifold) seen the picture on your other thread very clean
I wouldn't recommend cleaning it with a pressure washer again use gunk and hot soapy water and then rinse. a pressure washer or steam cleaner forces water in everywhere even past good water seals and can cause massive problems.
Also give it a good run the heat of the engine will help dry it out.

my earth strap comes from the base of the ingition coil on the bulkhead, the brown white wire breaks out of the loom above the gearbox with the oil pressure sensor wire brown/yellow wire next to it.

Mine has a join in it but i hope this is clear enough. your looking at the right hand side of the engine just above the gearbox.
Sometimes I wish my MFA didn't work as it distracts me from the road and I can't resist pushing buttons!!!
