MFA (another one)

everything work'd fine then all of a sudden the the mpg needle stopped workin but the shift light still works but now in fifth as well

First thing to check:

Wiring to the switch on top of the gearbox, and the switch itself.

When the gearbox is in 5th the switch gets closed, telling the MFA to use the needle intead of the LED. Switch failures are common at this age, because of the heat of the gearbox…
