Mark 1 GLS indicator prob

Hello everyone, please excuse my ignorance but this is my first Golf, driving it home (2 miles) for the first time the indicators don't work, left or right, all that happens is the green light comes on on the dash and stays on, any ideas?

Could be the relay , try that first [fuze box-look in manual]. But are all the bulbs okay ?

Thanks, I'll try the relay, I didn't bother with the bulbs as I thought it would be a bit odd if they were all blown!
