Main power feed for electric hood.

Ive got a thick red wire coming through the bulk head, it has a spade end on it then on the interior loom going to the boot i have the same wire. In between is a square capacitor? fuse? relay type think with the male ends to slot into the two red wires. where does this fuse relay type thing sit and how do the wires connect to it?

Those are the two wires. If you need a pic of the fuse thing ill take one.

Thanks
Nathan

That looks like a radio / sub / amp feed , what makes you think its a power hood feed ?

Not meaty enough for a VW connection . In my opinion .

Yes it is a SUB/AMP wire, i have recently purchased a cabriolet and found exactly the same thing, i hope your wiring behind your dash isn't as bad as mine!!!!!!!

Its not a amp lead, what you may have a amp lead but that there isnt. Its a main power feed for the electric hood with a thermal switch.

Does yours have a power hood?

nath sorry to ask but you did say you were doing a conversion manual to power hood ? If thats the case the wiring would not already be in the car from the factory . Have you a picture of the fuze thingy ?

Cheers …………..

Sorry I haven't really explained this too well have I?

Yeah i'm converting a manual hood car into an electric hood.

That red cable came from the electric car but ive misplaced the thermo switch holder.

Many many apologies, now i know what that cabel is for, where does it connect, as i found one end in the engine bay and the other loose in the boot, does it connect directly to the battery? I have found the black box which i presume, as you said is the thermal switch..... :banghead:
