Loads of Faults all at once! HELP
Picked up my 1.5 auto MK1 today and on the way home it starting cutting out.
Traced that back to the supply to the idle control valve and managed to get a feed from the coil to solve that. Then the rev counter died followed by the sidelights and then the dashboard lights and the rear lights failed completely on both side and main lights.
Is there something simple to look out for bad earths etc or is major work required?
Thanks

I don't know if it the same with a 1.5 but on 1.8's theres a brown earth lead that should connect to the rear right bolt, held in place with a nut on the rocker cover (as looked at from the front of the car). If its not in place then it causes just the problems that you are describing.
Start there, if its not attached then have a good rummage around in the 'bay and reattach.
Fingers crossed it should work. And its cheap!!!
