Lights switch on mfa and rev go off??? Help!
Hi all
When i switch my lights on my 1991 gti cabriolet the rev counter needle drops right off as if its not connected and the mfa display goes to a blank screen when i switch lights back off everything goes back to normal but the time is lost, the main beam light is on when its dipped and it goes off when main beam is selected any idea's
Thanks Steve
Just tried it again and it seems when i dim the display right down the revs rise and the mfa clock comes back on got to be something to do with this?

Brown earth lead to the rear right of the rocker cover block will have come off. The brown earth lead conmes out of the loom from under the servo area.
I'm going to make this advice a sticky cause I type it out 3 times a week at least!!!

I had the same issue with mine. The earth was connected and it ended up being the actual switch on the dash. Replaced it and it all works fine now.

dont know much about the electrical problem but it takes 2 mins to get you light switch out. with a small flat screwdriver, you dont ned to remove the dash.
carefully flick off the fascia over it and you can get it out..

Well i got another switch and its still happening but by putting the old switch back in with the contacts bent apart so the dimmer for the dash light doesn't work all is well except there is no dash lights.
Any more idea's anyone?

Was the switch you got in full working order? I had 3 before I got one that didn't have the same problem.
