Light switch cuts power!!!

Any ideas on this one.
When I switch my lights on, I lose all dash info? MFA, Tacho etc. Switch them off and it all works again, except MFA has reset itself?
Any ideas why it's doing this?
Thanks Steve

Have a look at the earth lead in the engine bay. Looking from the front, into the bay, locate the rocker cover and then the rear right nut on the cover. there should be an earth strap that goes to the bulk head. If its not there have a good rummage around lower down in the bay as it may have dropped down.

If its not connected then loads of things go wrong with the MFA, lights, rev counter etc.

Sorted it out you were spot on it's a brown and white which comes from dash loom.
Cut it short from dash loom and earthed out above dash rather than going to dizzy, all works ok now.
Can't see any problems by doing it this way can you? Not got dizzy anymore running electronic ignition.
Thanks Again Steve

Hi Steve,
I'm curious to know - does the temperature reading on the MFA change when you turn the engine off?  A lot of posts talk about the temperature changing by several ?C between engine on and engine off.  Mine stays the same, but then the return wire goes to the rocker cover.  Big
