LED upgrade to interior lights

Has anyone upgraded their interior lights to LED type?

How did you go about it?

Do they dim/ vary in brilliance?

theres a couple of ways you can do this, the easiest is to buy an led lamp from ebay for a couple of quid, the other way isto make your own, i made mine from led strip if six leds, makes the cab a bit brighter.

i used a 12v led strip, think i may have some left if its any good, pm me it runs 12v you just need to solder positive to 12v and negative to earth on the bulb holder, takes about 10 mins of soldering and a couple of hours for glue to dry i used epoxy resin, the sticky strip is buggered now

hope helps

Like aircooled said, search ebay for an led festoon bulb, 44mm I think.

Be wary of the polarity when you fit it, leds are fussier than incandescent bulbs about current flow.

Very true, they are fussy but on the bright side (no pun  ) if you do put it in the wrong way round, it wont hurt it whatsoever

Yeah, sorry  :redfaced: when I read that back it does sound a bit foreboding doesn't it!

No fireworks, they just won't work if they're the wrong way round which can easily lead to the assumption that you've bought a dud.
