but without the ISV on hows it goin to run ? any way of controling the idle with what i have?

thanks.

Its not plug and play and our guidelines don't recommend trying to plug in the entire loom into the MK1 fusebox - just adapt the ignition wiring to the car and reuse the Mk1 engine wiring. ISV - ???????????

im not using the entire loom. just the kr engine and ECU loom.

i have removed the cold start system from the loom and bypassed it on the engine.

How many pins in the multi plug? AFAIK the ones to the various components on the engine can't be identified by colour alone, because the colours are used more than once. The ones on the back of the fusebox (the big multiplugs) ARE colour coded.

I meant not to use the KR ENGINE loom (no such thing really, anyway), but to simply adapt the Mk1 stuff to the KR engine.

yeah i know what you mean about the "engine loom"

heres the blue one. the green wire goes round to the brown one under the dizzy. all three of them are the same size
and you can just see the grey one at the top of the pic

blue = 5th injector
brown = thermo time switch
grey = warm up regulator.

The Mk1 injection already has these components (since its K Jet too), albeit in different places. You can simply reuse the existing loom and rearrange the wiring.

but i have a mk1 caddy, it had a 1.6 petrol engine in it so no gti loom to use

Is the plug on the multipin connector the same for both? If so, you'd need to check pin outs, etc to see if you can simply plug it in or not. You'd need to add a fuel pump relay to the fusebox too.

the multi plug to the fuse box you mean? yes i am told they are

and i havent got my fuel pump yet so i havent wired it up or bough tthe relay for that yet.

just need to sort the rest out first

Where do you have the 3 plugs, on the caddy loom? Or the KR loom? And if you have make the KR loom the same as the caddy loom, how come it has 3 extra plugs on it? Or do both have 3 extra plugs?

Or is it the other loom, there's 2 which go towards the engine bay?

etc

i have scrapped the kr loom now apart from the ECU and ICU part.added the throttle wires and connectors

and the rest is all 1.6 petrol caddy loom.

when i say i made the kr loom same as the caddy one, i mean once the cold start bit is removed thats all you have left

and yes i still have three plugs on the caddy loom i forgot where they went on the caddy engine though. so not sure where they go on the 16v engine.

The wires are colour-coded though....

if you look in the pic the blue connector has a green wire from it. the caddy loom hasnt got a green wire to any of those three connectors.

is this because its the 5th injector and obviously caddy was carb so its not needed?

Has the caddy got the connectors too? And if so, what#s the colour code on each. Since they're 2 pin terminals….they'll have 2 wires and 2 colour codes each.

You'll need to find a wiring diagram for a caddy and find these wires on it then. The colours aren't in an 1983 injection car, which is the only wiring diagram I know.
