Its one thing after another.. Help on my electrics please

I need some help with my electrics.

Had been having problems with my fuel pump which turned out to be a bad relay.  Replaced the relay and now the fuel pump fuse keeps blowing and now the immobiliser wont turn off.

Anyone got any ideas what may be causing the problems??  

Just seems like it is one problem after another with this car and its driving me nuts..

Could be the fuel pump is faulty that goosed it in the first place.  Also check the connections are sound at the pump.

It all started to go wrong when i took the small pump out of the tank to scrap for rust as i was changing the fuel filter and had a couple of tows home from the RAC.

Am going to disconnect the main pump tonight when i get home from work and see if the fuses still blow…

Really hope its not the pump as have been quoted more than £100 for a new one. :-(

check the wiring to the wur and idle control valve if fitted, these gets 12v feed from the fuel pump so could be that. or it might be linked to the immobiliser, often they immobilise the fuel pump feed so the immob or wiring could be duff and causing it to short out

i may sound like a complete idiot but what is the wur?

immobiliser appears to be connected to the coil but will have a look at the wiring etc once the rain has stopped.  

Am getting fed up of having a convertible that i cant use when the sun is out… or really to put it another way a car i cant use at all…

well i googled wur and then cleaned up the connections on it.

I wiggled a few more wires and moved stuff around and now it all seems to work.  Will have to give it a run now when the weather is nice to test as the roof leaks.. lol

also i wonder if the immob unit is getting damp, casuing it to both not work and possibly making the fuse blow.  have a good look under there to make sure there is no dampness going on, if there is check your scuttle tray isnt blocked up and has no holes through into the cabin
