It is not a voltage stabilizer! Please help
Recently my temp and fuel gauges stopped working, and after reading the vwgolfmk1 forums I found the following post by dubboy
" If both temp and fuel gauge don?t work its often a sign of a broken voltage stabilizer on the back constant 10v to them. Check the supply from it (3 pronged transistor held down with a screw) with new ones can be bought from GSF or VW." dubbboy
I took my mk1 to the auto electrician to check the voltage stabilizer, but fortunately it was still fine, unfortunately the three lines on a plastic sheet that goes to the voltage stabilizer, one of these lines were broken. Please help me how do I go about fixing this or do I have to buy that new plastic sheet, or do i go to a professional auto electrician?
Actually the auto electrician tried to fix the broken line using a soldering wire, but it didn?t work.

Ps: I will write a detailed story and questions about my mk1 soon on the forum. I'm still learning about this car, I bought it a month ago. I am in South Africa.

Ref the fualt you have I thought (??) that you could solder broken lines on the blue film but maybe not? Otherwise, could be another fault.
How easy/hard would it be for you to get a replacement set of clocks out there?
Cheers
