It All Stopped Working

I have just been to Newquay in the Mk1 this weekend for RTTS and the Mk1 was been great. 8)  :D

A few small problems have shown there faces though!!

1,  My fuel pump doesn't purge before starting
2,  My Hazard Warning lights don't flash
3,  My Intermitant Wipers don't work on the front

Is there anything common that links all of these and where should I start to look to fix them?

The car also takes ages to start when HOT but starts fine when COLD ??

Just been out to the car again after reading through some threads on here.

When I press the hazard switch with the ignition OFF I get a single click from a relay and no lights anywhere.

When I press the hazard switch with the ignition ON I get a single click from a realay and the green light comes on on the dash but still no lights on the outside.

When I put the wiper stalk in the intermitant position I get nothing at all, no movement no clicking.

When I switch the ignition on I here and I can feel the fuel pump relay click (number 2 relay??) but the pump does not purge.

If I crank the engine it doesn't attempt to fire at all for around 30 secs.  If I stop cranking within this time and let the key go back to the ignition stage the fuel pump can be herd to run and continues to run for about 4 secs.

It ALWAYS starts but when its HOT it just takes ages to get there!!  When its COLD it starts fine.

I've heard that sometimes with starting problems with engine being hot can be due to the seal around the carb to the engine, if its in poor condition then when the seal gets hot it will allow more air in and cause the wrong mix of air and fuel. Im no expert on this, im sure someone on here will help you out though. Have you tried the basic things like changeing sparks plugs over, maybe new ht leads?

Just a thought Matt, all three electrical issuses have relays in their circuits located in the fusebox.  Maybe worth a look in there, had a lot of rain lately.

I DID have a water leak from my bulkhead earlier this year but not for ages now, its all bone dry inside the cab now days 8)  :)

Just been reading through a few more pages of problems on here that sound like mine and all seems to point towards the fuel pump relay.  Going to order one in the morning from GSF and give it a try.

As for the hazards and wiper fault, can anyone tell me which relays are for these circuits and where they are located??

I had the exact same problem with my hazards. I took out the fuse box, replaced any connectors that were loose or looked bad, put it back together and it worked. One of the earth s was very very loose, i think it was that that was the prob.
