Is a mk2 starter good for a mk1?

Hi guys,

as I said, I'm really struggling to find out if a mk2 GTD starter will fit on my '82 1.6D (CR engine)

From what I could get from the catalog, the part number is apparently the same, but different version, a G (in the GTD) instead of an E in mine.

Comparing both, the GTD's has an extra hole (for and extra screw) in the lower support bracket, but the other holes look like they are similar.

As I'm buying the starter from a guy living far away from me, I have no way to try it out, so any input will be very welcomed.

And sorry for any mistakes, as my technical English vocabulary may have some flaws.

Thanks Paul. I think I'm gonna take the chances and buy it. It's not that expensive anyway (but it's always money that could go into another thing)
