Ignition switch sticking

My car sat off the road for a while and in that time i think my ignition switch began to seize up as everytime i started the car i could hear the starter staying engaged. I had to pull the spade connector from the starter once car was started to disengage it.

I purchased a new ignition switch about 2 months ago and for a while the car was fine, started fine, no sticking on and no pulling off spade connectors. But yesterday it stuck on as i started the car then freed itself off. But today its been happening everytime i turn the key in ignition.

Ive sprayed down the barrel with WD40 and tried to free the switch off but its still happening and im worried that im gonna do some damage to my starter.

Is it the starter thats sticking or is it my new ignition switch? I really cant handle anymore problems with the car at the moment, it seems to be one thing after another just now

There are some poor quality switches about , we had one from Ebay a few years ago it was of dubious quality , filling it with WD may have made it worse , sorry .

By removing the wire from the starter and stopping the starter you have eliminated the starter as the fault .
